About the Queens County Farm Museum

Queens County Farm Museum has been a cornerstone of New York City’s agricultural history for over 300 years. Since 1975, it has operated as a historic museum, dedicated to preserving, restoring, and interpreting the city’s rich agrarian legacy. As one of the longest continually farmed sites in New York State, Queens Farm connects the past to the present, offering an authentic experience of urban farming and historic agriculture.

Each year, the farm welcomes over half a million visitors, engaging New Yorkers through programs that extend beyond historic
preservation. Our mission encompasses education, serving over 35,000 NYC school children annually, environmental stewardship through workforce development and volunteer initiatives, and cultural enrichment via free public events. Additionally, Queens Farm is committed to advancing food equity, growing over 40,000 pounds of fresh, affordable produce to support underserved communities across Queens. Through these efforts, we remain a vital resource for sustainability, education, and community connection.
