Northwell Health

We’ve teamed up with New York State’s largest private employer and health care provider to bring public farm-fresh food and nutrition education to New York families. Northwell Health is the health and wellness partner of Queens County Farm Museum.

Free recipes, brochures, giveaways and exciting programming such as tastings and cooking demos will be featured at our on-site Farmstand as part of the Farm-to-Table Wellness Program. Materials will also be available to take home from our Farm Store and Reading Room, and we’re celebrating this partnership at events such as Sheep Shearing Festival, Queens County Fair, and October on the Farm. Coming soon, look for signage in our fields and throughout the grounds helping visitors discover where our fruits and vegetables come from and encouraging a nutritious and delicious diet.

Northwell Health is a proud supporter of select Public Education Programs, which bring health and wellness classes to the NYC community. From Raising Backyard Hens and Planning your Veggie Garden to Cheesemaking 101 and Root to Rise: Farm Yoga, education programs are a great way to connect with agriculture and pick up some new skills to support a healthy lifestyle. Northwell’s support for our School-to-Farm Education program through mobile programs like Wellness on Wheels helps Queens Farm instill healthy values in learning minds as they discover the importance of urban agriculture on field trips during the school year and throughout the summer.

Northwell Health offers community resources in support of healthy eating, exercise, smoking cessation, diabetes prevention, heart health, and maternal health. Together, Queens Farm and Northwell Health are strengthening the public’s connection to healthy food and healthy eating.
