Our farmers are passionate about growing colorful blooms using entirely organic methods. All Queens Farm crops are Certified Naturally Grown. We delight in the changes and surprises of seasonality, and take pride in practices that allow for beautiful variation. In addition to flowers and herbs from our gardens and fields, we harvest all sorts of interesting plant materials from our 47-acre site, always within 24 hours of each event to ensure peak freshness. There are approximately 70-100 stems in each Mixed Flower Bucket.
The number of buckets that you will need depends upon the arrangement sizes and style you have in mind. Our DIY bucket will typically fill 7-10 medium vases or make 2-3 bridal party bouquets and several bud vases.
When you receive your Mixed Flower Bucket, you will see a variety of colorful blooms packed snugly in a five-gallon bucket. We cut stems as long as possible so that you will have maximum flexibility when making your arrangements. Also, we strip leaves off the lower half of stems to prevent flowers from tangling and breaking, and for easier handling. Take great care when removing flowers from the bucket as they are very delicate; we recommend taking them out all at once and laying them gently on their sides on a work surface.
We will have your order ready when you are! We recommend that flowers be picked up either the morning of your event or the day before. Keep in mind: if you pick up the day before, you will have to store your flower arrangements off-site (in a cool place) overnight and transport them to your event.
Queens Farm does not provide flower storage after your Bucket Order has been picked up. Until the time of your event, we recommend keeping flowers in a cool place, out of direct sunlight, with plenty of water (vases 3/4 full).
As a public farm and historic site, we cannot provide a designated space for assembling flower arrangements. If your event is taking place at Queens Farm, you will have access to your site rental space on the day of your event.
For those who are looking for an affordable option for arranging their flowers themselves, we offer Mixed Flower Buckets, and Foliage/Filler Buckets – loose assorted stems for a flat rate. Please note that due to the unpredictability of Nature, the small size of our operation, and the range of flowers we grow, we cannot accommodate specific color or variety requests for bucket orders. The flowers we offer reflect the unique feel of each season. Mixed Flower Buckets are $130 each; Greens/Filler Buckets are $100 each.
