Each session is packed with fun! We’ll kick things off with a 30-minute deep dive into our animals, led by our Livestock Manager, Sierra Farrar, followed by 30 minutes of hands-on, themed activities that will make you an honorary farm animal expert!
This series consists of 6 independent sessions and will take place outdoors (weather permitting). We will meet in our Pavilion. Sign up for the whole series and receive a discounted rate, or select individual sessions that work for you!

Instructor: Sierra Farrar is the Queens County Farm Museum’s Livestock Manager. Sierra began farming in 2020 in Southern California when the covid pandemic put her then music career on hold. Becoming quickly fascinated by the world of food and its ability to either destroy or build environmental and social resilience, she decided to pursue a career in agriculture. As a native of Colorado, her nostalgia for seasons brought her to the East Coast where she worked at Harlem Valley Homestead. She quickly became their livestock manager and spent her time grazing beef cattle and chickens, raising pigs in the forest, and selling meat and vegetables to her local community. Her love of music and desire for city life moved her to NYC where she is honored to be able to continue working with the animals she loves and educating people about livestock care and its role in our agriculture system.
