Education

Since 1975, the Queens County Farm Museum has been an educational destination for over half a million visitors each year. A place where learning comes alive, we offer everyone a chance to connect with the land, history, and each other.

Our five Education Teaching Gardens provide our guests with diverse and engaging experiences. Curious visitors can touch, smell, taste, and see a variety of vegetables and flowers in our Walter Kaner Children’s Garden. Learn about pollinators in the Butterfly Garden. Visit our Apiary and learn about bees and pollinator friendly plants at the Honeybee Garden. Explore herbs and visit our steel windmill in the Colonial Herb Garden. Plant, weed, harvest, and discover the colonial and regenerative agriculture with our education staff in our Edible Teaching Garden. Explore ways your food scraps can make a difference with our Compost Garden*.

Guided programming led by our education staff is available seven days per week.

Stay tuned! Our Compost Garden is currently being built.*
