Queens Farm Launches 325th Anniversary Year with A Farmer’s Dinner Benefit
On July 14, 2022, two hundred guests gathered at Queens County Farm Museum for the inaugural Farmer’s Dinner to Benefit Queens County Farm Museum in celebration of over three centuries of continuous farming and the beginning of the largest agricultural expansion at Queens Farm in a half century.
Featuring a menu with fruits, vegetables and proteins grown on Queens Farm, the Dinner raised important funds in support of programming and agricultural initiatives at New York City’s largest tract of farmland and longest continuously farmed site.
A Farmer’s Dinner was supported by lead sponsor Northwell Health. Major support was also received from Con Edison, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Schneps Media, Resorts World New York City, Maspeth Savings Bank, Commonpoint Queens, and Glen Oaks Village. Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Deputy Mayor Meera Joshi, Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, State Senator Jessica Ramos and Assembly Members David Weprin, Ed Braunstein, and Khaleel Anderson and a representative from Council Member Linda Lee’s Office.
In addition to thanking our sponsors, our Farm Team wants to thank you for your support. Whether you attend our annual Thunderbird American Indian Powwow, the Queens County Fair or our Harvest Weekends & Pumpkin Patch in October – your engagement with Queens County Farm Museum allows us to provide free admission 354 days per year and continue this farm’s legacy.
And, in case you missed it, there is still an opportunity to give and support Queens County Farm Museum in honor of our 325th anniversary. You can make your donation here. Of special note, a $250 donation includes 4 tickets to the 39th Annual Queens County Fair AND our new market tote bag – the latest in farm fashion.
